Olympos by Dan Simmons

Olympos by Dan Simmons. New York: Eos (HarperCollins), 2005. ISBN: 0-380-97894-6

Few science fiction writers today have the imagination of Dan Simmons. The stuff he thinks up is just plain out of this world, both literally AND figuratively. As I've written before, he puts enough ideas into a book to supply most writers with half a dozen novels or more.

Olympos is the sequel to Ilium, which I read and blogged back in 2003. Dan does manage to loosely tie up many of the disparate threads that make up his story. But not without a lot of trauma and adventure along the way.

Highly recommended, but read Ilium first.
