The Complete Cartoons of the New Yorker

The Complete Cartoons of The New Yorker edited by Robert Mankoff. New York: Black Dog & Leventhal, 2004. ISBN: 1579123228

What an amazing book! 2004 of the best New Yorker cartoons appear in print, with the rest of the over 64,000 that have appeared in the magazine over the past 80+ years on two CD-ROMs which accompany the book. As everyone knows, the cartoons are the best thing about The New Yorker. That and the covers.

I managed to make it through all 2004 of the cartoons that are printed in the book itself during the period (just under a week) that I had a copy in my possession. The task of looking at the other 62000+ that are only found on the CD-ROMs is quite daunting. Who knows when, if ever, I'll be able to accomplish that endeavor.

Nevertheless, highly recommended!
